Eta Beta Pi
ABOUT US
Eta Beta Pi, formed in November 2009, is an international English speaking Alliance Guild playing on the Burning Blade(EU) server. We are a combined force of ex-non compos mentis members who have migrated from Trollbane (Alliance) and members of The Triad who have faction changed from the Horde side on Burning Blade.
We are an adult orientated Guild and consider ourselves to be semi-hardcore with a strong community spirit. We play to experience and conquer all the content the game has to offer which requires teamwork, dedication, skill, and proper preparation. This will always be the main focus of our guild.

GUILD APPLICATIONS
If we are looking for players of your class and spec it will be reflected on the recruiting panel on our website. You must be committed to playing the game at a high level and just as importantly, enjoy playing your class and spec. Do NOT re-spec to apply.
Our expectations of you:
- Your forum name should be the same as your main character name, if possible.
- You enjoy raiding and accept both the good and bad aspects of it.
- You don't take offence easily.
- You always strive to improve your character outside of raids.
- You don't treat raid invites as a birthright.
- You're not selfish, you are generally a team player.
- You're not a drama queen or loot whore.
- You don't give up. If it takes 100 wipes to kill a boss, you will want to be there for all of them.
- Your attendance is predictable. We do not AT THIS TIME have attendance requirements, but we do expect you to be able to attend most of our of 25 player raid days and inform us in advance via the forum AFK thread if you can't attend a raid.
To make an application you will need to register with our forums and apply using the application template which can be found in the Guild Recruitment forum.
GUILD MEMBER CONDUCT
We do not tolerate gold buying, cheating of any kind, ninja-looting or any behaviour likely to bring our Guild name into disrepute. We expect everyone in the Guild to act maturely and to treat fellow Guild members with respect at all times. Please remember that we're a multi-national Guild with members from various cultures and backgrounds. You are also expected to behave well to everyone outside of the Guild. You need to remember that every single member is an ambassador for the Guild and should act accordingly.
LOOT RULES
Loot distribution in 25 player instances is carried out by loot council. The loot council is made up of the Guild Officer’s present during a raid. The loot council’s decision is final.
The loot council will take into account a number of criteria when awarding loot including:
- The currently equipped item(s).
- A Suicide Kings style loot list.
- The member’s level of attendance.
Unwanted items will be put up for an off-spec roll.
Outside of 25 player raiding, loot should be distributed on a need before greed basis and common sense. We expect our members to be happy for other members when they get loot and not gripe about it. Greedy people who only care about loot are likely to be removed from the guild.
RAIDING
WHISPERING THE GUILD MASTER OR THE RAID LEADER DURING RAIDING HOURS IS STRONGLY FROWNED UPON. If you need to contact us during these times, whisper a Guild Officer who will pass on any messages in /o chat if necessary. During raids, you are expected to listen to the raid leader and pay attention at all times. If a raid leader gives an instruction, do it first and think about it later. Discussion about strategy is encouraged but only before or after a boss fight.
We expect all our members to be able to work as part of a team and be able to take constructive advice and criticism. If you make a mistake, you'll hear about it. And then you will hear about it again and again and again. If you can't take a joke, we're not the guild for you. If you are not willing to die repeatedly learning encounters, we're not the guild for you. If you can't learn from your mistakes, we're not the guild for you.
Raiding members must have fully working headsets and be on comms for the duration of the raid.
AFKs: tell the raid via /ra chat or on comms if you need to go AFK even if it's for just a 2 minute bathroom break. If you need to go AFK for longer then asked to be replaced.
YOUR CHARACTER
If you don't care about improving your gear and your character, if you don't research where you can get upgrades to your gear, we are not the guild for you. Our primary focus is raiding This means everyone who attends a raid needs to be prepared. We expect all our active raiding members to attend raids with the best possible gear, enchants, gems and glyphs available. The use of flasks, elixirs and buff foods are mandatory.
